PROCESSING
When processing by hand, we recommend only rasping and sanding, not chiselling. When rasping, follow the fibre direction if possible. For machining, we recommend a FOREDOM milling motor with flex shaft, handpiece and suitable milling cutters, for example, and the FOREDOM angle grinder for sanding. However, other milling and grinding systems can also be used.
For all work, store the stone in such a way that as little vibration as possible occurs to prevent large pieces from breaking off in the direction of the fibres. The stone can be sanded and polished after rasping, sanding by hand up to 800 grit, then treat with Lithofin polishing cream. It's worth it!

Selenite is a crystalline form of the mineral gypsum, similar to alabaster.
Stone is a natural product. We endeavour to reproduce the appearance of our sculptural stones as accurately as possible in the illustrations so that the character of the stone can be recognised. Ultimately, each stone is a unique piece and the appearance may differ accordingly from the illustration.
Our bildhau stones are natural stones in individual shapes & sizes, the dimensions & weights of which we cannot specify exactly in advance. You can choose your stone from different weight categories, in which the maximum price for a stone of the respective category is indicated. The stone supplied will be individually weighed and charged at the price per kilo stated here. The price invoiced will be lower than the maximum price for the respective category.
It is important to us that you receive exactly the material you need for your project. If you are looking for a stone with more specific dimensions (e.g. elongated, approx. 30 cm), please let us know in the message field at the end of the order process. We will endeavour to find a suitable stone for you. On request, we will send you a photo in advance for inspection. We charge a service fee of 9.50 euros for this service, which will be shown on the invoice.
Larger stones and cut-to-size pieces are generally also available for many types of stone. Please contact us by e-mail or telephone for a binding quotation.
