Molding & Casting

Molding is usually an intermediate step in the casting process. First, you choose an object that you want to reproduce, e.g., an object from nature, a sculpture, a plastic model, or a part of the human body. You then make an impression of the chosen model using an elastic or solid material, which you will use for casting. However, it is often necessary to first make a support mold to ensure that your impression/casting mold does not deform during casting.
During casting, a liquid mass is poured into a previously made casting mold or mold, after which the casting mass hardens according to a chemical process.

With the help of molding and casting, it is possible to reproduce objects, sculptures, models, and body parts, for example, to manufacture them in large numbers or to recreate them in a different material.
The most suitable molding or casting compound depends on the nature of the project, but also on the working conditions. Humidity and ambient temperature greatly determine the release and curing time of the various materials.
